jonah is sinking into dark hued entaglement, scoping the base of the mountains, trapped underwater, cloaked in gloom…and then there is this streaming prayer of Jesus. Father, all that is left is to trust, to cling, to know that you are-not just able but bursting with love being. Jonah is in this instant with Jesus on the cross saying though you slay me, I will trust in you…he is saying that no matter what I will trust This One. This enters every area-Jonah’s prayer-it is the prayer of death to self trusting. He could not see or feel-he was encased in fish intestines-all there was was this raw believing that God was.
